Position: CMS Long-Term Substitute Family Outreach Translator (8/3-9/14/26)

* Note this position is a long-term substitute position for 8/3/26-9/14/26. Candidates must be bilingual and will be paid $85/day or $90/day (with a bachelor's degree). No benefits are available for this long-term substitute placement.

TITLE FAMILY OUTREACH TRANSLATOR (SPANISH) QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent

Demonstrated ability to speak, understand, read and write fluently in both English and Spanish

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills

10 Month position on the Educational Assistant salary scale

REPORTS TO

Building Principal

JOB GOAL

To interpret and translate for school staff in order to ensure Spanish-speaking families effectively receive school information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Translates written documents from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English.

Interprets during conferences, IEP meetings, telephone calls, testing, information gathering from other school districts, emergency situations, etc.

Assists multilingual students and their families with the school enrollment process.

Serves as liaison between the school district and multicultural groups and organizations in the community..

Assists the school in developing a rapport with multilingual families.

Performs other duties as assigned by the School Principal.
