Position SummaryThe primary purpose of the housekeeping staff is to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in all areas of the community, including residents’ rooms, public restrooms, offices, and common areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs day‑to‑day housekeeping functions in accordance with established procedures and as assigned by supervision.
- Follows safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment, reporting hazardous equipment or conditions.
- Cleans floors (sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting) and carpets (vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting).
- Prepares and cleans resident rooms, bathrooms, mirrors, and pictures.
- Collects trash daily from rooms, offices, lounges, and bathrooms.
- Cleans walls, windows, and baseboards by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
- Assists with setting up dining, activity, and living rooms as needed.
- Reports needed repairs to Maintenance Director, filling out work‑order forms.
- Maintains cleanliness of housekeeping equipment, storage areas, janitor closets, and cart.
- Responds to resident needs as requested.
- Launders facility linens as required.
- Informs director of all supply needs.
- Reports all accidents/incidents to the director regardless of severity.
- Ensures cleaning schedules are followed as closely as possible.
- Turns in found articles and items to the director.
- Reports for duty in approved uniform/appropriate dress.
- Maintains confidentiality of resident information and respects residents’ personal property rights.
- Works independently with flexibility, personal integrity, and willingness to incorporate new methods.
- Follows safety and infection‑control policies, practicing regular handwashing and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director or team members.
- Turns on all inside lights and lamps in public areas upon arrival.
- Regularly cleans all air vents throughout the building.
- Maintains public bathrooms with necessary supplies.

Independent decision making, ability to handle written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions, coping with mental and emotional stress. - Physical:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, stand, bend, reach, use hands and fingers, climb stairs, and be on call as needed. May encounter communicable diseases, chemicals, and minor animals.
Required Physical Requirements and working conditions include safety and hygiene protocols, and the possibility of exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous chemicals, and biological hazards.
