Pay Range: $13.40 to $19.28 per hour, based on years of experience.

The primary function of a Dietary Aide is to assist in the preparation of food in quantities according to the menu, recipe and number of persons to be served, including setting up the dining room as instructed and preparing items such as salads and beverages. The aide also takes resident orders and serves meals to residents in a timely manner, cleans resident eating areas, work areas, equipment and utensils according to proper procedures, and maintains a clean and safe environment throughout the kitchen and dining facilities.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in food preparation and portioning according to the menu and recipes.
Set up dining rooms and prepare meals, salads, and beverages as required.
Take resident orders and serve meals promptly, ensuring all dietary restrictions are met.
Clean and maintain resident eating areas, kitchen work surfaces, equipment, utensils, and carts.
Wash cooking equipment, pans, dishes, and utensils; sweep and mop floors; remove garbage; and store food in designated areas.
Work cooperatively with residents, resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred and previous experience in a long‑term care or hospital setting is preferred.
