Working with the public in a customer‑service oriented environment. This job requires a great personality and the ability to keep yourself motivated without much oversight. Company vehicle, gas, tools and computer are all provided.

• Install fiber optic installation services inside and outside of customers’ homes.
• Read work orders, speak with customers and install services ordered.
• Run one line to a central location in a residential home and set up a router and streaming device.
• Run drops from pole to home when required.
• Apply knowledge of internet‑capable and streaming devices.

Installers must possess the necessary skill, knowledge, training and experience to protect themselves and others from injury or property damage while performing their jobs. They must be knowledgeable of and observe all applicable safety rules, including the National Electrical Safety Code.

The Technician reports daily directly to the Field Supervisor. The Technician does not regularly exercise supervision over any other employees.

• Frequent prolonged sitting, occasional prolonged standing, and frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and stretching.
• Eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity, including use of wireless communications and computer equipment.
• Ability to read well and distinguish letters and symbols.
• Lift and maneuver an extension ladder weighing 36.5–59.5 pounds occasionally.
• Lift 20 pounds from floor to knuckle occasionally.
• Lift 10 pounds from shoulder and above frequently.
• Crawl and maneuver in crawlspaces, attics, basements and similar confined areas frequently.
• Fit through small openings and work in tight spaces as required.

Work generally involves travel to and from customer locations and performing work inside those locations. Work will be performed on the side of the road, in the woods and through inclement weather. Occasionally work will be performed at other locations, such as the company warehouse.

• Minimum one‑year experience as an installation/service technician in the CATV or related industry.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of company pre‑employment testing, including background check, motor vehicle report, and drug/alcohol screening.
• Ongoing adherence to the company drug‑free workplace rules and post‑employment testing.

• Ability to utilize technologies such as handheld devices, computers, smart devices, and GPS devices.

The functions listed above are essential to the performance of the position, including attendance, punctuality, ability to work irregular hours, and strong teamwork with co‑workers and customers.

Assist other job technicians, perform occasional errands, and other miscellaneous duties as required.
