SummaryCORMETECH is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electro‑Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, optimization, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment and industrial systems. This role serves as a technical resource within the maintenance organization, providing advanced diagnostics, mentoring less experienced technicians, and supporting equipment reliability initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with industrial electrical systems, PLCs, automation controls, motors, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and complex manufacturing equipment. This position requires a hands‑on professional who can independently resolve equipment issues, support capital projects, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance safety, reliability, and production performance.
Essential Duties- Determine, acquire, and install parts, components, and hardware required to maintain equipment uptime and production reliability targets.
- Troubleshoot and repair electro‑mechanical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and automated production equipment.
- Perform advanced electrical and mechanical diagnostics with minimal supervision.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to maintenance technicians and production associates.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in MMS/CMMS applications.
- Adhere to all plant safety programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Arc Flash, Electrical Safety, and Machine Guarding requirements.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities utilizing work instructions, equipment manuals, and industry best practices.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial control systems, PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, and associated networked devices.
- Read, interpret, and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
- Bend and install conduit, pull and terminate wiring, and replace motors, sensors, drives, relays, and control components as required.
- Perform repairs on electrical systems and equipment up to 480 VAC.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and support root cause failure analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Support automation upgrades, equipment commissioning, and capital improvement projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Assist Engineering, Operations, and EHS teams with process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Must be willing to work any shift, including 8‑hour, 10‑hour, or 12‑hour rotating schedules as business needs require.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Plant Haz Mat response team.
- Plant First Responder (CPR, AED).
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Assist engineering teams with equipment installations, upgrades, and process validation activities.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electro‑mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Specialized training in Electro‑Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Automation Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
- Working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls.
- Experience with HMI systems, AC/DC motors, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and instrumentation.
