TITLE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN INDUSTRIAL HVAC &REFRIGERATION TECHNICIANQUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English, perform basic arithmetic, and demonstrate ability to perform basic computer skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least five (5) years of verifiable experience as an Industrial HVAC and Refrigeration Technician with one (1) year of a recognized HVAC trades education program with a diploma.

    JOB GOAL

    To work in a team environment to maintain the buildings and equipment in a condition of operating excellence so that full use of them may be made at all times

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Must have EPA 608, Universal Certification for handling and working on refrigerant systems.
  • Must have experience trouble shooting, servicing, installing, and maintaining water source HVAC equipment, water loops, water pumps, boilers, energy management systems, frequency drives, gas package systems, gas equipment, duct work, centrifugal systems, walk-in refrigeration, commercial refrigeration, and restaurant equipment.
  • Inspect buildings and machinery for defects.
  • Repair and maintain machinery, plumbing, physical structures, and electrical wiring of fixtures in accordance with building codes.
  • Install electrical equipment and repair or replace wiring and fixtures.
  • Perform air conditioning and refrigeration repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to buildings and equipment.
  • Care for the tools, equipment, and material under their supervision, seeing that they are stored properly, clean and in good repair.
  • Know and follow all safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This job may require lifting of objects weighing up to 100 lbs., with lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 75 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling
  • Climbing and/or balancing
  • Stooping, kneeling and/or crawling
  • Reaching
  • Visual ability required for performance of position. All positions involving electrical circuits require the visual perception of color differences.
  • Sufficient hearing to use audio devices and communicate

    The working environment lends itself to: odors, fumes, dust, lubricants, chemicals, varied temperatures, and uncomfortable physical conditions.

    General Operations Department Task and Scheduling

    It needs to be stated that regardless of an employee’s “Skill Level” designation or position, all employees of the maintenance area of the Operations Department are to perform all types of work they are qualified to perform when called upon. Every employee of the Operations Department must be able to work an “on call” schedule and be called upon to do the most menial of work task.

    There is no one in the maintenance department that is above any task we may have to perform to keep the schools operating.
