PositionSummary – Clinical Assistant Job in Cleveland, Tennessee
We are hiring a Clinical Assistant to support the clinical services team at Cleveland Youth Academy. This role is ideal for individuals interested in youth behavioral health, residential treatment, or clinical program support. The Clinical Assistant plays a key role in coordinating intakes, maintaining documentation, supporting treatment teams, and ensuring effective communication between youth, families, and interdisciplinary staff.

- Support clinical staff with intake assignments, case preparation, and youth admissions
- Maintain and update youth case files, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Facilitate completion of clinical intake packets, assigned documentation, and intake calls with families
- Create treatment team schedules and coordinate Child and Family Team Meetings
- Participate in treatment team meetings, family meetings, court hearings, and foster care reviews as assigned
- Send notifications, monthly summaries, treatment team invitations, and progress reports
- Schedule and complete home pass documentation
- Conduct weekly youth telephone calls and coordinate visitation
Maintain and distribute program rosters - Communicate youth needs across departments, including medical, transportation, and dietary needs
- Assist with referrals, case coordination, and linkage to community resources
- Represent the program at community meetings, court appearances, family days, and special events as needed
- Maintain a high standard of professional role model behavior for youth
- Participate in required training and professional development activities
- Report incidents, concerns, and use of physical force per agency policy
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral sciences
- OR a master’s degree on a licensure track under supervision of a licensed practitioner
- Two years of experience working with youth with serious emotional disturbances or substance use challenges preferred
- Experience preferred but not required for candidates with a relevant master’s degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to pass background check and meet state requirements
- Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable
- Able to actively engage with youth, participate in physical interventions, and transport youth or staff as needed
- Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state
- Must pass evaluation of physical techniques and certification exams
- Valid state driver’s license required
- Must meet state criminal background check requirements
- Occasional irregular hours may be required
