The Youth Crisis Response Specialist is responsible for providing in-person crisis screening, assessment, and intervention, and continuity of care services to children and youth in the community using developmentally appropriate tools and strategies to reduce symptoms or behaviors of crisis that could result in displacement or other disruption to the child or youth's life. Services will be provided in community settings, such as private homes, juvenile detention, residential centers, and schools.

This position's duties will include the following:

• Use trauma informed interventions and strategies to de-escalate children and youth in crisis, aid in crisis relapse prevention, and safety planning to ensure safety and reduce risk for placement disruptions.
• Facilitate office-based and community crisis assessments and crisis intervention services for identified children and youth to evaluate immediate needs and arrange for care or services necessary to mitigate risk.
• Work with a team of clinicians, medical staff, community agencies, school professionals, local law enforcement agencies, juvenile justice, court systems, and other child serving agencies to provide crisis stabilization services.
• Provide trauma informed and solution focused interventions, including motivational interviewing, to promote stability and reduce need for future inpatient and law enforcement interventions.
• Provide care coordination and connection to community resources to address the child or youth's needs and promote recovery.
• Travel in and out of region is required.
• Work schedule is Monday
  - Friday 10am - 7 pm
• Will work non-traditional business hours, weekends, and some holidays.

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's Degree, meeting requirements of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)*
• 2 years' experience in human service field preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred (paid at a higher salary).
• Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through Tri-County.

Payscale:

Hourly rate: $22.46

Annual equivalent: $46,716

Bilingual hourly rate: $23.80

Bilingual annual equivalent: $49,513
