Student Welder-Part-time

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated, self-driven individuals to join our team as Student Welders. Under the direction of the Lead Welder and Welding Operations Supervisor, you will gain experience in MIG welding and fabrication while contributing to production work.

This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, grow, and build a career in the skilled trades.

This Student Welder will be based at the Cleves location. The shifts are Tuesday and Wednesday from 5am-3:00pm, or Tuesday – Thursday 8am-3pm.

Under the direction of the Lead Welder and Welding Operations Supervisor, the Student Welder will gain experience in MIG welding, and fabricating various metals for production, and will eventually be responsible for moving between production assignments.

• Receive and follow instructions, prints, and work orders with little to moderate supervision
• Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning, and welding metals using MIG welding
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications when necessary
• Fit and assemble standard weldments and structures with multiple components
• Clean and prepare materials to be welded
• Set up, assemble, and tack weld parts
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Move between production assignments as skills develop

• High school diploma (or in progress for vocational welding students)
• Current Student in a welding program
• 1+ year of welding experience (including vocational training)
• Basic MIG welding experience required
• Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers
• Ability and willingness to learn to read routers, blueprints, drawings, and sketches
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
