A Wiss real estate development and management client is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their team in Middlesex County, NJ. This is a hands‑on accounting role with exposure to both financial operations and property‑level activity. You’ll play a central part in keeping the day‑to‑day financial functions running smoothly, while also supporting broader initiatives alongside the Controller. This position is FULLY ONSITE.
Responsibilities- Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash activity
- Manage all aspects of tenant security accounts
- Handle intercompany transactions, transfers, and postings
- Post interest and track deposits from ancillary income streams
- Manage tax payments, filings, and year‑end documentation with external accountants
- Set up new properties in property management software and maintain system accuracy
- Manage and update commercial tenant records
- Process tenant changes and charges as needed
- Provide ongoing support to the Controller on special projects and day‑to‑day needs
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Experience in accounting within real estate or property management strongly preferred
- Familiarity with property management software a plus
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on role that includes both routine and more complex tasks
- Proactive, reliable, and willing to step in where needed
- Clear communicator with a practical, problem‑solving mindset
Salary range is $85,000-$95,000. Client also offers generous health insurance coverage, attractive 401(k) plan with company match.
