Position: Full Charge Bookkeeper - Franklin Township Sewerage Authority.

Position Summary

Full‑time accountant responsible for maintaining day‑to‑day accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation, and performing general accounting tasks as required. This individual will manage all accounting systems of the Authority and strictly adhere to accounting standards, including accounts payable, deposits, bank reconciliations, balance sheets, payroll and payroll tax administration, annual 1099s, annual budget maintenance, audit preparation, escrow account maintenance, fixed asset maintenance, vendor account maintenance, and preparation of reports for management.

The accountant will work closely with professional firms hired by the Authority throughout the year.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Associate degree in Accounting with years of proven experience considered)
  • 3‑5 years full charge bookkeeping experience
  • Proficient in accounting software (minimum 3‑5 years experience)
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced work environment
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Thrives in a collaborative office environment
  • Ability to interface well with staff and external contacts of the Authority
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Highly Preferred
    • Experience with Edmunds Gov Tech – Finance Modules
    Preferences
    • Experience with local government accounting and auditing procedures
    • Experience with Harris Micro Fund and Asset Trax Financial Software
    • Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll processing

    Administrative Manager

    Hours

    8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (In person, non‑remote)

    Salary Range

    $69,000 – $89,000 (Based on proven experience)
