ReportingRelationship and Scope of Position:
The Senior Manager reports to the AVP, Financial Reporting within the International Life Global Office Finance function, which is responsible for overseeing the integrity and quality of Life Segment US GAAP financial reporting. The Senior Manager is responsible for the review of monthly close journal entries and financial reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP. The scope of this position is execution-focused, encompassing the preparation and review of key accounting analyses, management of the close calendar to ensure all deadlines are met, direct support of internal and external audit requests, and execution of business initiatives and process enhancements.
The role works in close collaboration with local accounting teams, Corporate Consolidation, Accounting Policy, and Actuarial to deliver high-quality reporting.
- Manage the monthly close calendar and coordinate with local accounting teams to ensure all reporting deliverables are completed with high quality and submitted within Corporate deadlines.
- Review quarterly Internal Reporting Packages prepared by local teams, ensuring consistency and alignment with US GAAP and Corporate reporting requirements.
- Establish and maintain a robust internal control environment over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with internal standards and facilitating requests from internal and external auditors.
- Support business initiatives by ensuring transactions are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and by developing effective accounting and reporting processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses as requested by senior leadership; independently investigate identified issues and develop well-reasoned solutions for review.
- Evaluate closing processes to identify enhancement opportunities and recommend practical solutions.
