Position Summary

Skagit Valley Young Life is recruiting a Mission Staff member to build and lead a team of volunteer leaders across 11 schools. The role focuses on creating contact work strategies and providing discipleship opportunities for middle schoolers in the valley.

• Build and lead a volunteer leadership team, developing contact work strategies and facilitating discipleship for middle school students.
• Provide leadership development for volunteers, including recruitment, training, team building, vision casting, and supervision.
• Develop and execute resource‑development initiatives such as fundraising events, donor care, and public‑relations efforts.
• Plan and conduct Young Life club, Campaigners, and camp ministries; serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
• Maintain ministry records, manage finances with stewardship and transparency, and ensure compliance with Young Life policies and procedures.
• Support strategic ministry planning and record‑keeping for all area ministries, including maintaining accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned that align with personal gifts, experience, and area needs.

• Profess belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and wholeheartedly subscribe to Young Life’s Statement of Faith.
• Demonstrated relational skills with both children and adults.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

• College degree preferred.
• Access to Mission‑wide training (e.g., New Staff Training, Winter Training, Focus Conferences, Young Life University) provided upon request and approval.
• Regional training may be required at the discretion of the Regional Director; area‑based training is available to enhance personal spiritual maturity.
