Job Summary: The Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Physics of the Gregory H. Olsen College of Engineering and Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University seeks adjuncts to teach physics lab sections on the Florham campus during the Spring 2026 semester. Sections meet in person during the day.
Responsibilities- Provide quality instruction for undergraduate STEM students
- Guide students through weekly physics laboratory experiments
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback
- Hold regular office hours
- Track student attendance
- Submit attendance verification, midterm grades and final grades online
- Reply to emails from students, lab coordinators, and administrators promptly
- Commit to contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Follow established teaching protocols within the physics program
Quality instruction includes, but is not limited to, arriving on time and prepared to engage students through evidence-based active learning pedagogies, and/or assisting students with data collection and analysis via thoughtful guidance and encouragement.
Required Qualifications- A minimum of a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Physics or a closely related field
- Preference for applicants with previous teaching experience
