Position Goals
  • Career and Technical Institute Instructor for Welding who reports directly to the Workforce Training and Continuing Education Program Supervisor and delivers high‑quality classroom and hands‑on laboratory instruction.

Job Description
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with the approved curriculum on a daily basis.
  • Develop lesson plans that support student learning outcomes and workforce readiness.
  • Organize and maintain instructional materials, tools, equipment, and supply inventories.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, including grading and attendance tracking.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and constructive feedback on student performance, behavior, and participation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable industry standards, laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, and integrate this knowledge into daily instruction.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student behavior and instructional progress.
  • Model professionalism, reliability, and respect to contribute to a positive school culture.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Proficient written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for classroom instruction and student engagement.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Field‑related license/certification (e.g., OSHA 10).
  • Demonstrated welding proficiency through AWS, ASME, API, or comparable certification in Submerged Arc, SMAW, GMAW, and/or GTAW preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires campus mobility.
  • Dexterity with computers mandatory.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while teaching.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move welding‑related equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, and training equipment.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach when demonstrating welding techniques or troubleshooting.
