Civil Engineer

The Axel Group is seeking a Civil Engineer for our client’s team. This is a direct-hire, on-site opportunity with a multidisciplinary engineering firm in South Jersey. This position will support a variety of land development and site engineering projects from initial design through construction administration. The ideal candidate will have experience with site layout, grading, stormwater management, utility design, and construction document preparation, and will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively throughout all phases of a project.

• Prepare schematic site designs for a variety of development projects
• Design grading, drainage, and stormwater management systems
• Perform septic system and sanitary sewer design
• Prepare roadway and site lighting designs
• Develop complete construction documents, including plans, details, and specifications
• Assist with bid package preparation and project documentation
• Support construction administration activities, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, and field visits
• Manage projects from design through construction
• Prepare engineering reports and technical documentation
• Coordinate with project team members, clients, and regulatory agencies as needed
• Utilize Civil 3D and AutoCAD to support project design and production

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of civil engineering experience
• EIT certification with plans to pursue PE licensure preferred
• Strong proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
• Ability to execute engineering assignments independently with minimal oversight
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Experience with site development, stormwater management, and utility design preferred
