Job Description:
Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
The selected candidate will perform a variety of engineering work in the development, improvement, and optimization of multiple manufacturing processes and techniques, including circuit card assembly, standard module assembly, and electro-mechanical final assembly. Responsibilities include improving and optimizing current processes, implementing new tooling, enhancing existing tooling, and creating robust technical documentation for existing processes and tooling.
Essential Functions
• Implement manufacturing standard work and best practices to improve operational metrics.
• Translate engineering drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end products.
• Work with existing and legacy equipment.
• Control, improve, and optimize existing manufacturing processes.
• Perform failure analysis and implement risk mitigation strategies. Complete technical writing and training-related tasks.
• Coordinate with the maintenance group for equipment upkeep and training.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, OR
• Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, OR
• Minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Additional Skills
• Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
• Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering background preferred.
• Experience working with legacy tooling, code, and equipment.
• Robust project management and technical writing skills.
• Ability to communicate project status and risks to leadership Expertise in making data-driven decisions to improve and develop manufacturing processes.
• Experience using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Experience using the DMAIC process and associated tools.
