Volt is immediately hiring Manufacturing Engineer in Clifton, NJ
Job Description:
- Develops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers.
- Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems.
- Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes.
- Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products.
- Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
- Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- The candidate will perform a variety of engineering work in the development, improvement, and optimization of multiple processes and techniques, including circuit card assembly, standard module assembly, and electro-mechanical final assembly.
- The work will include improving and optimizing current processes, implementing new tooling, improving existing tooling, and creating robust technical documentation on existing processes and tooling.
Essential Functions:
- Implementing manufacturing standard work and best practices to improve operational metrics
- Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end-products
- Work with existing and legacy equipment
- Control and improve existing processes
- Perform failure analysis and risk mitigation
- Complete technical writing and training related tasks
- Coordinate with maintenance group for equipment upkeep and training
This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering background preferred
- Experience with legacy tooling, code, and equipment
- Robust project management and technical writing skills
- Ability to communicate project status and risks to leadership team
- Expertise in making data driven decisions to improve and develop processes
- Experience using DFM, Six-Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Experience using DMAIC process and associated tools.
Pay Range : $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
* Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
