Our client constructs affordable housing projects, providing reporting and documentation requirements of the many federal, state and local programs. They fulfill all compliance requirements surrounding WBE/MBE, Section 3 employment and certified payroll reporting.

About the Role

This role reports to CEO and President and manages day-to-day financial operations of all Construction Finance and Accounting. Direct hands-on accounting & reporting with one direct report.

Responsibilities
  • Manage banking activity, monitor and review cash flow daily
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Oversee compliance with internal control policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain General Ledger activity
  • Post monthly project billings and monitor accounts receivable
  • Prepare and distribute Monthly Financial Statements, including contract in progress details
  • Distribute quarterly and FYE Financial Statements to bond company
  • Key contact with Independent Auditors
  • Work with Project Managers, prepare detailed monthly job status reports which track project costs against budgets, profit and compliance.
  • Track Owner Change Orders
  • Monitor costs and profit for compliance with State cost certification guidelines
  • Payroll management, including review of job costing with President
  • Review project status, billing status and revenue recognition with President
  • Track MBE/WBE participation by project and completes state MBE/WBE utilization certifications at completion
  • Prepare State Contractor Cost Certification summaries and work papers for auditors and reviews and approves final reports
  • Prepare General Contractor final lien waiver and other miscellaneous closing documents required at project completion
  • Prepare required tax work papers and reviews tax returns
  • Maintain workers comp analysis and oversee annual audit with insurance company auditor
  • Prepare Quarterly Gross Receipt Tax Returns
  • Support A/P Manager
Qualifications

10+ years of Accounting & Reporting experience at the Management level

Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, Sage Intacct, Procore

Familiarity with government compliance and required attestations

Construction Industry experience
