MBS Structuring & Modeling Internship – Summer 2025

Who We're Looking ForAlgovant is looking for interns with a strong foundation in finance and structured products to join our MBS Structuring team. If you are detail-oriented and interested in how financial instruments are modeled, structured, and priced, this internship offers direct exposure to deal modeling and analytics.
What You'll DoAs an MBS Structuring & Modeling Intern, you will work on sophisticated financial models and deal structures:
- Assist in building and maintaining cash flow models for MBS portfolios
- Conduct scenario-based simulations and interest rate stress tests
- Work with Excel, Python, and/or VBA to automate structuring workflows
- Support documentation of deal assumptions, waterfall logic, and tranche design
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate structuring logic into internal tools
- Review and validate model output for accuracy and consistency
- Are studying Finance, Financial Engineering, or Economics
- Understand MBS or fixed-income instruments
- Are comfortable with analytical tasks and reviewing model output
- Have strong Excel modeling skills and familiarity with structured cash flow logic
- Have basic coding knowledge (e.g., Python or VBA)
- Are detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities
