Consulting Application Developer

Rutgers University is hiring a Consulting Application Developer for its Office of Information Technology–Enterprise Application Services. The role involves developing and supporting Business Intelligence infrastructure within a HIPAA-compliant Clinical Research environment by designing ETL workflows, managing sensitive data, and collaborating with research teams to meet reporting and research data needs.

• Develops and maintains ETL and reporting processes, integrating data from internal and external partners.
• Supports clinical research efforts by designing data workflows and managing data inventory.
• Acts as an Honest Broker for confidential clinical and research data, managing secure file transfers.
• Uses ETL tools such as Informatica and ODI; proficient in SQL and data modeling for data warehouses.
• Holds a bachelor's degree in a technical field with at least seven years of experience in healthcare data analytics and programming.
• Preferred experience includes Oracle and MS SQL Server, scripting languages (Perl, Shell, R, SAS), and familiarity with EPIC data models and certifications.
• Implements compliance with Rutgers' Corporate Compliance policies and HIPAA requirements.
• Salary range from $121,608 to $175,737, with competitive benefits including medical, dental, retirement plans, and employee discounts.
• Position is full-time, exempt, and may be eligible for hybrid work arrangements under university policies.
• Engages with the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) and broader university community as part of the role.
