Database Engineer – Qlik Replicate/ETL
Location: Raleigh, NC;
Morristown, NJ;
Phoenix, AZ;
Dallas, TX
Remote: 1 day onsite per week, 4 days remote
Job Duration: 12 months (extensions expected)

OverviewSeasoned Senior Database Administrator with deep experience managing data replication platforms, particularly Qlik Replicate in both cloud and on‑prem environments. The role requires expertise in Oracle Golden Gate, advanced SQL skills, and familiarity with Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS/SSIS/SSAS).
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain data replication strategies using Qlik Replicate across hybrid environments (AWS, on‑prem, mainframe).
- Handle migration from on‑prem Qlik Replicate to Qlik Cloud and manage Qlik ARC (Attunity Replicate Connect) solutions.
- Provide batch and real‑time replication support and lightweight ETL for replication.
- Monitor and tune performance of databases, replication tasks, and reporting services.
- Develop and maintain documentation on database architecture, configurations, and processes.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for data and replication issues.
- Participate in upgrades, patching, and migrations with Qlik, Golden Gate, and related tools.
- Collaborate with data governance, security, and compliance teams to ensure data protection and regulatory compliance.
- Support daily production for SQL Server databases on Windows Server and Linux (physical and virtual).
- Maintain standards, documentation, backup and recovery, storage design, virtualization, patching, capacity planning, and security administration for database environments.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity across enterprise systems.
- Associate degree and at least 6 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in an enterprise data center, OR high‑school diploma/GED and at least 10 years of experience.
- Hands‑on experience with Qlik Replicate (cloud and on‑prem) and Oracle Golden Gate (23AI preferred).
- Advanced SQL skills across multiple database technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS/SSIS/SSAS) is a plus.
- Knowledge of replication across heterogeneous databases and multiple datacenters.
- Experience with Oracle Veri Data comparison tool.
- Familiarity with virtualized database platforms (VMware vSphere).
- Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment and communicate effectively.
- Experience with Tableau, Qlik View, Power BI, Service Now, ITIL, SDLC, and relevant certifications is preferred.
- Provide oversight, mentoring, and leadership to less experienced staff.
- On‑call support 24x7, including root cause analysis for production incidents.
- Assist development teams with testing, tuning, and implementation of database applications.
- Proactive monitoring and preventive steps to ensure high availability and performance.
- Strong technical abilities, quick learning, and good judgment with vendors, senior technicians, and management.
- Must be capable of 24x7 on‑call rotation.
