Job DescriptionThe Specialist, Cost Account Manager (CAM) – Material Management plans, schedules and monitors the cost accounts for direct labor and material for supply chain scope, acting as control account manager (CAM). Implements budgetary cost and lead‑time targets for procurements. Analyzes actual material and labor cost and performance against the planned and proposed outcomes. Plans, schedules and monitors the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production.
Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules and coordinates material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production. Utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. May negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery. May interpret laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for export/import control certifications and licenses.
- Apply advanced supply chain expertise to support program execution in compliance with FAR, MMAS, MAAR‑13, and CAS.
- Serve as the primary supply chain interface to program teams, aligning resources and solutions with business needs.
- Lead material status meetings, supplier discussions, program kick‑offs, and deliver presentations to large audiences.
- Develop and manage material financial forecasts, support EVMS/EAC/ETC reviews, and provide variance analysis reporting.
- Maintain program material cost, schedule, labor baselines, and manage change requests throughout the program lifecycle.
- Support NPD stage gate deliverables, gate reviews, program reviews, and collaborate on material schedules, milestones, and execution methods.
- Oversee MPS and MRP activities, including BOM/item data maintenance, demand/supply management, and purchase requisition release.
- Coordinate procurement, production planning, inventory, and logistics to resolve shortages, expedite materials, and support build plans.
- Identify and resolve material, transactional, and receiving issues; monitor metrics, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage material‑related program closeout activities, support audits, solve complex supply chain problems, and use enterprise systems to develop acquisition solutions.
- Work independently. Guidance provided in complex situations.
- Must be able to obtain U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
- Education / experience (Material Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Marketing, Operations Management or Business Management).
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Relevant experience to be 2 years in Material Management, and a combination of 1 or more of the following directly related to Supply Chain, MM, Material Planning, MRP/MPS, completed internship, coursework, or practical experience that demonstrates analytical ability, strategy development and execution.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance is required.
