The Packaging Floater (PIM – Level
3) is an advanced operator-level position responsible for providing operational support across multiple packaging lines by filling line vacancies and staffing gaps to ensure business continuity, operational efficiency, and uninterrupted production. This role requires demonstrated proficiency in multiple packaging positions and equipment operations, allowing the employee to quickly transition between assignments based on business needs.

The Packaging Floater must maintain a thorough understanding of packaging processes, operational procedures, quality requirements, GMP standards, and safety expectations. The role is expected to perform operator-level functions across a variety of packaging lines while supporting production goals, line performance, product quality, and team effectiveness.

When assigned as a Tishma Operator, the Packaging Floater serves as the designated Line Lead for the shift. In this capacity, the employee is responsible for coordinating line activities, supporting operators, monitoring line performance, facilitating communication with supervision, and ensuring production activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all company requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities Production Operations Support
  • Fill open operator positions across packaging lines as assigned to support staffing requirements and business continuity.
  • Perform all assigned operator responsibilities in accordance with established work instructions, SOPs, batch records, and production schedules.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple packaging line functions and equipment operations.
  • Quickly adapt to changing production assignments and operational priorities.
  • Support line startup, operation, shutdown, and cleanup activities.
  • Monitor equipment and production processes to ensure efficient operation.
  • Assist in maintaining production flow and minimizing downtime.
  • Support daily production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Communicate production concerns, equipment issues, and operational challenges to supervision.
  • Maintain flexibility to work across multiple packaging areas, shifts, and product lines as required.
Tishma Operator / Line Lead Responsibilities

When assigned to operate the Tishma line, the Packaging Floater serves as the designated Line Lead and is responsible for:

  • Providing day-to-day leadership and coordination of line activities during the assigned shift.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact between line personnel and supervisory staff.
  • Coordinating operator assignments to ensure proper staffing and efficient workflow.
  • Monitoring line performance, efficiency, product flow, and operational effectiveness.
  • Supporting line startup, changeover, and shutdown activities.
  • Ensuring operators are following established procedures, GMP requirements, and safety standards.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting operational issues and escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Coordinating communication between Packaging, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Production teams.
  • Verifying materials, components, and documentation are available and accurate prior to production activities.
  • Supporting training and coaching of operators on line procedures and best practices.
  • Promoting teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the shift.
