Ameri Corps Service Member Volunteer Program Support | Full-Time

City Relief, Clifton, NJ, with service at NJ outreach locations
Hours:
Tuesday to Saturday; outreach 2-3 days a week; flexible schedule (e.g., 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm).
City Relief is seeking a full-time Ameri Corps Service Member to strengthen the systems, communication, and community that support our volunteer program. This hands-on service role combines volunteer engagement at outreach with recruitment, scheduling, communication, resource development, and program-improvement projects.
What You'll Do:
- Support volunteer onboarding, check-in, orientation, scheduling, and engagement at City Relief outreaches.
- Build relationships with volunteers and help create a welcoming, consistent service experience.
- Learn and utilize City Relief's volunteer management system, VOMO, and identify ways to streamline processes.
- Support volunteer recruitment through community events, colleges, digital outreach, and partner communications.
- Review volunteer feedback and help improve training and onboarding resources.
- Assist with volunteer appreciation, communications, and special initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and revision of City Relief's General Volunteer Handbook and other sustainable program resources.
Schedule:
The service schedule is generally Tuesday–Saturday and includes regular attendance at outdoor outreach sites as well as in-person and hybrid program-support activities.
What We're Looking For:
You should enjoy building relationships, organizing details, communicating with diverse groups of people, and improving systems. We are looking for someone collaborative and adaptable who is comfortable learning digital tools and participating in hands-on outdoor outreach in varying weather conditions. This role is an Ameri Corps Member placement hosted at City Relief and sponsored by St. Paul's CDC. It is distinct from City Relief staff employment, an internship, or a traditional volunteer opportunity.
Ameri Corps program eligibility, stipend, education award, and enrollment requirements are administered through St. Paul's CDC.
Application Process City Relief is the first step. Submit the brief City Relief application and résumé. Candidates selected to move forward will have a pre-screen conversation with City Relief. Following a successful City Relief prescreen, candidates will interview with St. Paul's CDC Ameri Corps Coordinator for the formal Ameri Corps application, eligibility, and enrollment process.
