RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey’s largest integrated health system, is seeking full-time Neurosciences Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to join our growing Neurosurgery team. This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to work collaboratively with an esteemed neurosurgical department, providing comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions.
Position OverviewThe APP functions as an independent care provider in collaboration with the Neurosurgery Department. The role is centered on conducting comprehensive health assessments, managing patient care pre- and post-operatively, and performing clinical procedures across a variety of settings, including the ICU and surgical floors.
The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $120,000 to $170,000 per year.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Job Requirements- Masters prepared in Nursing from an accredited program
- Advanced Practice Nurse License via the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
- Maintain National Certification AANP or ANCC
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey
- CDS and DEA license
- BLS and ACLS
- Full time
- 40 hours
- Nights
- Care for neurosurgical patients in the ICU including management of fluid balances, management of EVDs, etc.
- Discharge planning, orders, and prescriptions.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic test
- Care for patient after surgery including pain control, drain removal, suture and staple removal, etc.
- Prepare patients for surgery including scheduling, images needed, consent, clearances, preop orders, etc.
- Assist with surgery and procedure on the floors as needed.
- Round with attendings and carry out changes to plan of care.
- Answer the call phone when residents are not available.
- Assist with administrative needs of the residency.
- Educate and support the nurses as needed.
- Daily patient rounds and progress reports.
