Role Description The Keyholder role at The Paper Store in Clifton, NJ is a part-time, on-site position responsible for supporting daily store operations and providing an exceptional customer experience. Keyholders assist with opening and closing procedures, secure the store, and ensure adherence to company policies and standards. Day-to-day tasks include engaging customers, driving retail sales, maintaining visual merchandising and product displays, and keeping the sales floor clean and organized.

The Keyholder also supports team members, helps train new associates, and facilitates smooth cash handling and point-of-sale transactions. This role works closely with store leadership to uphold The Paper Store’s brand, service culture, and community-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Experience skills to engage shoppers, resolve concerns, and create a welcoming store environment.
  • Candidates should possess Retail Sales and Communication skills to effectively present products, assist with purchases, and interact with customers and team members.
  • Candidates should possess solid Product Knowledge to understand key brands and categories, answer customer questions, and make informed recommendations.
  • Ability to perform keyholding responsibilities, including opening/closing procedures and basic cash handling.
  • Reliability to work part-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining merchandising, cleanliness, and store standards.
  • Previous retail or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required.
