Spectrum Painting in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey is hiring three full-time In-Home Sales Representatives to drive business development across North Jersey. This role is ideal for people-oriented professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by performance-based growth.
Job OverviewThe In-Home Sales Representative manages the end-to-end sales process – from prospecting and estimating to closing deals – supporting both residential and commercial markets. The role represents Spectrum’s high-quality service with professionalism and integrity.
Compensation & Schedule- First-year on-goal total compensation: $60,000 – $125,000+ (no cap) with bonus structure
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings and Saturdays as needed
- 401(k), paid training, health insurance
- Weekly pay, PTO, and year-round work
- Attend scheduled estimate appointments on time and in an organized manner.
- Provide clear, detailed quotes within 48 hours using company pricing system.
- Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and communicate value.
- Maintain consistent follow-up until all open bids receive a final decision.
- Visit every sold job at least once to reinforce relationships and monitor quality.
- Ensure jobs stay “happy and under” by aligning expectations with production.
- Sell across verticals (painting, flooring, light carpentry) and adjust communication based on customer type (residential or commercial).
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers through email, calls, and job visits.
- Return all incoming calls within 4 business hours.
- Represent the company professionally with punctuality, presentation, and positivity.
- Coordinate project details with crew leaders, including job scope, materials, colors, and timelines.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Use CRM to track all leads, estimates, communication, and follow-ups.
- Analyze blueprints, plans, or scope documents where needed.
- Participate in networking groups and referral programs to generate new leads.
- Develop a personal prospecting plan to grow individual and company success.
- Attend all team meetings and training sessions.
- Collaborate with other departments and provide field insight for planning.
- Contribute to process improvement and strategic initiatives.
- Support and live out Spectrum’s culture and success values.
- Exhibit a love for competition and achieving sales goals.
- Be a strong closer, not afraid to ask for the sale.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, listening, and questioning skills.
- Be highly organized and consistent with CRM usage.
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
- Maintain a value-selling mindset with confidence in presenting premium services.
- Exhibit professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Be self-motivated and proactive.
- 3+ years of sales experience (residential or B2B preferred).
- Experience with a one-to-two call close process.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Fluent in English and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Estimating experience and blueprint reading knowledge a plus.
- Trade/industry background not required.
- Minimum 1 year CRM software experience.
- Minimum 2 years residential/B2B sales experience.
