Lawrence Harvey has been engaged by a global engineering and consulting organization on a position that is critical to the continued growth of its Applied AI capabilities and expansion of its AI engineering presence in New York City. They are looking for an Applied AI Engineer who will build and expand production LLM and RAG applications across internal and external platforms.
You will work across document ingestion, chunking, retrieval, evaluation, APIs, and the broader application layer while leveraging an established AI platform and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be joining a highly technical and collaborative Applied AI team and will play a key role in turning LLM capabilities into reliable, production-grade applications used across the organization. This is an opportunity to join a large global organization that is actively investing in AI in a role that offers hands-on ownership of real-world LLM applications and complex applied AI problems.
- Strong software engineering experience with hands-on ownership of production RAG and LLM applications
- Strong Python development experience with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and vector databases such as Pinecone
- Experience building document ingestion, chunking, retrieval, and LLM evaluation pipelines
- Experience deploying production AI applications within AWS or similar cloud environments
