Role PurposeThe Ramp Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the unloading and loading of luggage, freight and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. They will also drive and operate small specialized commercial vehicles. The role requires heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.
Responsibilities- Supervise lead agents and allocate ramp agent resources as needed
- Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, air cargo facilities and other aircraft
- Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to company safety regulations
- Act as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
- Interview, hire, train employees; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems related to company policy violations
- Complete shift reports and sign timecards
- Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
- Prepare disciplinary incident or termination reports
- Assist in the baggage handling area
- Conduct shift briefings to keep staff organized and informed
- Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests and baggage and cargo routing tags
- Operate motorized equipment

- Prior Ramp/Airline experience required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Pass pre‑employment drug screen and all pre‑employment testing
- Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
- Must be comfortable lifting 70 lbs repetitively
- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- Pass FBI background check and obtain U.S. Customs Seal
- Report any significant deficiencies in our products, materials and documents
- Has a duty to suggest improvement to working practices, especially those relating to safety and security
- Must have read and signed the Station Quality Manual, Emergency Response Procedures Manual and the Station Security Manual
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
