Long-Term Sub-Elementary Clerk II-PM-Erie
Starts immediately. Part-time (4 hrs/day, 12:15 am-4:15 pm). Pay: $16.75/hr. 10-month assignment effectively August 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities- Greets community, staff, and students, uses proper business etiquette to answer telephone calls and emails.
- Assists in processing student registrations and maintaining student records.
- Records student daily attendance and runs appropriate reports as needed.
- Tabulates daily lunch counts and submits them to the central kitchen.
- Assists in maintaining immunization and other health records.
- Assists in processing purchase orders.
- Dispenses medication to students.
- Monitors sick and injured students.
- Schedules and processes building use requests.
- Distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
- Operates office machines, such as photocopiers, scanners, computers, printers, calculators, fax machines, voicemail systems, and telephones.
- Communicates with customers, employees, students, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: No previous clerical experience required; one year of related clerical support in an office setting preferred.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Basic math knowledge.
- Principles and processes for customer service.
- Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, file and record management, form design, and other office procedures.
- English language structure and content, including spelling, grammar, and composition rules.
- Ability to read and interpret district policies, guidelines, and government regulations.
- Willingness to participate in training classes.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Willingness to learn different software systems.
- Multitasking, organization, meeting deadlines, and working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Cooperation with teachers, community, students, and staff.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English.
- Word processing 40 wpm.
- Data entry minimum 6000 strokes per hour, 95% accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills.
- AS400 (preferred).
- Power School (preferred).
Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk and hear. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds. Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus, particularly when concentrating on a computer screen and small numbers. Moderate to loud noise level.
