Cosmetology Teacher

Summary

Clintondale Community Schools is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and licensed Cosmetology Teacher to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching high school students the fundamentals of cosmetology, including hair, skin, and nail care, while preparing them for licensure and careers in the beauty industry.

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in all areas of cosmetology (hair styling, coloring, skincare, nails, etc.)
• Prepare students for state board cosmetology exams and industry certifications.
• Supervise and manage classroom and lab environments, including safety and sanitation protocols.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, assessments, and student records in alignment with state CTE curriculum.
• Integrate technology and hands‑on experiences into instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues, school counselors, and administrators to support student success.
• Organize and manage student clinics, field trips, and guest speakers to enhance real-world learning.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.

• Valid State Cosmetology License
• Michigan Teaching Certification or Annual Authorization in Cosmetology
• Minimum [2–5] years of experience in the cosmetology field
• Previous teaching or training experience
