Summary
Clintondale Community Schools is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and licensed Cosmetology Teacher to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching high school students the fundamentals of cosmetology, including hair, skin, and nail care, while preparing them for licensure and careers in the beauty industry.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in all areas of cosmetology (hair styling, coloring, skincare, nails, etc.)
- Prepare students for state board cosmetology exams and industry certifications.
- Supervise and manage classroom and lab environments, including safety and sanitation protocols.
- Develop and maintain lesson plans, assessments, and student records in alignment with state CTE curriculum.
- Integrate technology and hands‑on experiences into instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues, school counselors, and administrators to support student success.
- Organize and manage student clinics, field trips, and guest speakers to enhance real-world learning.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Valid State Cosmetology License
- Michigan Teaching Certification or Annual Authorization in Cosmetology
- Minimum [2–5] years of experience in the cosmetology field
- Previous teaching or training experience
The compensation is outlined in the 2022‑24 CEA collective bargaining master agreement.
