POSITION TITLE

Coordinator for Community Education and School Age Childcare (SACC)

REPORTS TO

Director for Elementary Education

SALARY RANGE

$84,018 – $88,440

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises and coordinates all activities of the Community Education and SACC programs.
  • Develops, organizes, and oversees Community Education and SACC programming, including class offerings, public relations, budgeting, staffing, resources, and program development.
  • Supervises program operations related to personnel recommendations, program regulations, tuition fees, registration procedures, room assignments, building coordination, refund procedures, instructional materials, class limits, and staff coordination.
  • Maintains Community Education personnel payroll and oversees operational and staffing functions for SACC programs.
  • Plans and conducts orientation meetings, ongoing professional development, and training for Community Education SACC staff.
  • Develops and implements recruitment and outreach efforts for Community Education and SACC programs.
  • Supervises and evaluates personnel across all assigned programs and sites.
  • Attends and participates in district administrative meetings, Superintendent advisory groups, and related collaborative committees.
  • Conducts annual evaluations of Community Education and SACC programming to assess effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
  • Participates in professional organizations, in-service sessions, and state and national associations related to Community Education and SACC.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students, staff, families, and community members.
  • Oversees compliance with all state licensing requirements for SACC programs, including maintaining required documentation, staff qualifications, safety procedures, and regulatory reporting.
  • Supports early childhood program compliance as it relates to licensing requirements.
  • Serves as the district liaison and licensee designee for SACC and Early Childhood programs with state licensing agencies and ensures programs remain in good standing with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with district requirements, Board of Education policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees and supervises Community Education and School Age Child Care (SACC) programs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with district policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership that results in teamwork and collaborative working relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership in the ability to communicate a clear vision and to work cooperatively with colleagues to attain the vision
  • Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication
  • Strong knowledge base in education, childcare programming, community education, and child development
  • Knowledge of federal and state educational mandates
  • Demonstrates a willingness to take professional risks to improve opportunities for students
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills
  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Child Development, Educational Leadership, Recreation Administration, or related field required
    • Minimum of three to five years of experience in childcare, Community Education, or related educational programming preferred
    • Administrative and supervisory experience preferred
    • Experience with state childcare licensing regulations and compliance preferred
    • Experience with budgeting, staffing, and program development preferred
    • CPR/First Aid certification required
    • Ability to work effectively with staff, students, families, and community members
