Elementary Instructional Coach
Clarenceville School District is seeking an Elementary Instructional Coach for Grandview or Botsford Elementary School for the school year. Salary is based on experience and in accordance with the Instructional Coach salary scale.
The Instructional Coach will partner with classroom teachers to support student learning in all content areas. The focus will be on individual and group professional development that expands and refines the understanding of research-based effective instruction. The coach will provide personalized support based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers in support of the school improvement action plan. They will collaborate with teachers to identify goals, choose strategies to meet goals, monitor progress, and problem solve until the goals are met.
Required
Education/Certification:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate. Preferred minimum 5 years classroom experience. Strong Literacy background. Preferred experience coaching adult learners with training in cognitive coaching or other coaching models. Knowledge of MTSS/intervention services, Tier I curriculum, and research-based intervention curriculum like LLI. Knowledge in building learning communities, student-centered learning, classroom engagement, formative assessment and feedback. Commitment to data driven decision-making and understanding of assessment for learning.
Experience in purposeful integration of technology in the classroom. Deep belief in the transformative power of high quality instruction in relation to learning outputs. Determined to be a productive member of a dynamic team of talented individuals. Experience providing and facilitating large and small group research-based professional development.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Provide job-embedded professional development for educators. Support staff members in developing and implementing plans to improve student learning. Collaborate with teachers and building administrators and district instruction coaches to utilize effective instructional approaches. Meet with other district leaders to align to the district framework. Provide professional development. Support all faculty in modeling workshop strategies within classrooms, demonstrating lessons that reflect research-based best practices, assisting teachers in planning and teaching lessons within other content disciplines, providing individual and small groups of teachers support through coaching sessions, follow-up, and on-going feedback, presenting and facilitating workshops and training that align with district focus and initiatives, working with teachers in response to instructional needs and concerns, attending training outside of the district and sharing knowledge to staff, providing resources to teachers, creating positive relationships with teachers and administrators, communicating and demonstrating research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance and improved classroom environment, communicating effectively with all members of the school district and community, encouraging professional growth and providing organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers, assisting teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data and culturally responsive practices, assisting teachers in creating materials that are in alignment with curriculum, instructing and supporting teachers with curriculum software products, and classroom/curriculum related technologies, providing support in analyzing student assessment data, supporting, implementing and assessing various instructional programs and program effects on student achievement, participating in goal/plan setting and evaluation, assisting teachers with specific classroom activities when requested, providing support for classroom motivation and management strategies, monitoring intervention programs and student progress by observing and meeting with teachers, developing resources for Tier 2 interventions, participating in building action planning working toward school goals, collaborating with building principals and Title 1 staff to conduct needs assessment and plan for and monitor Title 1 programs, providing assistance in researching instructional and/or curriculum issues, modeling lessons when appropriate, managing time and schedule flexibility that maximizes teacher schedules and learning, working positively toward meeting identified district and building improvement goals, assisting with development of district curriculum, instruction and assessments, and attending workshops/conferences to learn about new innovative instructional strategies.
