    Associates Degree and Childhood Development Associate (CDA) Credential

Reports To:

Building Administrator at Orchard Primary School

Job Goals:

To provide a quality, safe and caring learning environment that will ready students for the rigors of Kindergarten.

Salary: $31/hour

Hours:
Typically 8:00-1:30 pm Monday through Thursday

Summer

Hours:

1-2 hours/week; regular schedule to resume in mid-August to prep for school year.

Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Comply with state licensing rules, including completing appropriate paperwork.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate student learning.
  • Curriculum Planning & Implementation (foundational skills in language, literacy, basic math, and social skills)
  • Teach, educate and monitor all students.
  • Regularly inspect play areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Safety and compliance (adhere to health and safety regulations, including sanitation and hygiene.
  • Ensure that all staff is CPR and First Aid certified.
  • Work with the Business Manager to develop and maintain the budget (classroom supplies, etc.)
  • Market and advertise the program to recruit and maintain enrollment.
  • Register all children, keep a class list, and work directly with the building secretary and administration.
  • Assess students’ progress within the program throughout the year.
  • Communicates with families and conducts home visits and conferences to meet with parents.
  • Remain current on issues and trends in early childhood education.
  • Collect tuition payments, record, and deposit tuition checks.
