Position Summary
Delton Kellogg Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our Middle School team. The teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities while collaborating with general education teachers, families, administrators, and support staff to promote student success.
Essential Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in accordance with student IEPs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications.
• Monitor and document student progress using appropriate data and assessments.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support students in inclusive settings.
• Maintain accurate and timely special education records and documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
• Create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with administrators, counselors, related service providers, and other staff.
• Follow all district, state, and federal special education requirements.
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsement
  .
• Special Education certification preferred/required as applicable.
• Knowledge of IEP procedures and special education requirements.
• Middle school experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support a variety of student needs.
• Commitment to student achievement and building positive relationships with students.
