Job DescriptionComstock Park is seeking candidates who display a strong desire and ability to make an impact on students and the greater community both within and outside of the classroom.
SUMMARY
This person must monitor students to insure a positive safe environment in various areas of the building and enforce the code of conduct policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Monitor students in assigned areas; i.e. cafeteria, hallways, classrooms, etc.
- Building sweep and perimeter check.
- Assist with office duties.
- Bus duty and / or Recess duty.
- Enforces the student code of conduct and reports violations to the administration.
- Provides a safe and orderly environment implementing building policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to problem solve and reason with students.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students and staff.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand;

The employee must be able to push items of 50 lbs. such as moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally work inside and must be able to work outside for parking lot and bus loading/unloading.
The employee must be able to work with the public and other workers. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate to loud. This person will wear clothing in accordance with building policy.
