Location: Clinton Charter Township

Provide student-centered training and co-curricular learning experiences that increase student belonging, engagement, and success. Design and facilitate workshops, modules, and learning activities that support First Year Experience (FYE), Student Life & Leadership, and campus-wide student engagement initiatives. Use active learning and data-informed practices to improve retention, support transitions into college, and help students develop academic, leadership, and workplace readiness skills. Collaborate across the college to align activities with guided pathways, equity, and institutional student success goals.

Training

& Facilitation (Student Engagement, FYE, Leadership)
  • Help design, deliver, and facilitate high-impact workshops and seminars (in-person and online) on topics such as transition to college, student organization leaders, belonging, and personal leadership.
  • Review current materials, including student guides, facilitator guides, and active learning materials; develop new materials to support academic success, including materials and activities designed to practice skills.
  • Develop and maintain learning modules (LMS) for FYE and Student Engagement programs; grade and provide feedback on assigned activities where applicable. Ensure accessibility and alignment with institutional branding and policies.
  • Contextualize training to target student populations.
  • Provide training and support to student organization officers and peer leaders.
  • Support co-curricular learning and reflection activities that map to engagement outcomes and student leadership development.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of FYE programming, communications, and student progression tracking in collaboration with the FYE Manager.
  • Assist with the student list management, progress monitoring, and completion documentation for FYE; coordinate with Records & Registration on transcript notation or completion records as directed.
  • Contribute to FYE communications (nudges, reminders, milestone messaging) and resource guides for faculty/staff/students.
  • Help evaluate FYE metrics and prepare summary reports to inform continuous improvement.
Student Organization & Leadership Support
  • Help maintain resource guides, manuals, or training content for student organization support.
  • Support cross-unit events to enhance student participation and outcomes.
Data, Assessment & Reporting
  • Develop monthly, semester and annual reports, comparing year-to-year data.
  • Track and analyze attendance, participation, and engagement trends for workshops, events, and FYE activities; use data to recommend improvements.
  • Support co-curricular assessment (including Higher Learning Commission co-curricular outcomes requirements) and contribute to departmental monthly, semester, and annual reports.
  • Enter and maintain accurate information in LMS, CRM, and engagement platforms; ensure data integrity and on time reporting.
  • Analyze and identify trends in seminar offerings.
  • Create and review student evaluations with an eye toward making recommendations for improvements.
Holistic Student Support – Student Engagement Services
  • Serve on committees and work groups related to student engagement, belonging, and FYE as assigned.
  • Support other college programs by providing requested training and contributing to college-wide engagement strategies and initiatives while ensuring alignment to student success goals.
  • Uphold a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming environment that promotes student confidence, belonging, and college readiness.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Education, Counseling, Teaching, Training or related field OR an Associate degree in these areas with 2 years of related work experience.

One year of work-related experience required in education, training and group presentation, disabilities or learning assistance. Must have experience working with a diverse customer base.
