Job Summary In search of a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual to join our rapidly growing loan-servicing department. The Loan Servicing and Default Specialist supports a broad range of loan servicing and default management activities, with a focus on delinquency resolution, loss mitigation, investor reporting, and responsive customer service. This role works directly with borrowers to evaluate repayment options, establish appropriate workout arrangements, and help resolve delinquent accounts while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with applicable guidelines.
The Specialist also supports escrow administration, loan servicing activities, system upgrades and conversions, and inquiries from customers, internal teams, investors, and third parties. The ideal candidate is a proactive, tech-savvy problem-solver who is highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing complex situations and changing priorities.
Job Duties Assisting with software upgrades and conversions.
Monitor and contact delinquent borrowers.
Determine eligibility for various workout programs.
Reports Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae delinquencies and foreclosure sales.
Set up forbearance or repayment plans
Responds to internal and external operation requests via email and phone, including early phases of delinquency.
Responds to customer, investor, or other 3rd party inquiries through research and documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
Monitors and analyzes various escrow accounts including PMI, taxes and hazard insurance.
Calculates and prepares payoff statements, verifications and discharges.
Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.
Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualifications Education Minimum education requirement:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Two to five years previous mortgage servicing, default or loan operations required, including time spent in preparatory positions
Loss Mitigation experience and knowledge a plus
Skills
Able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment
Possess an aptitude for problem-solving
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Ability to read and understand loan documents
Proficient computer and Excel skills
