Job Description & How to Apply Below

Aqueus is looking for an experienced, relationship-driven Territory Sales Agronomist to join our team and help grow the presence of our Growthful product line throughout Michigan, the Midwest and beyond.

This is a unique opportunity to step into an established agricultural territory and help grow it further. Our current Sales Agronomist is preparing for retirement and will work directly with his successor to transfer his product field knowledge, introduce existing customers and industry relationships, and provide hands-on training to ensure continuity for the many growers, dealers and distributors we serve in the midwest and beyond.

About

Aqueus

Aqueus has developed a stabilized hydrogen platform technology designed to complement the agricultural products that growers already use in their crop programs: crop protection inputs, biological inputs, fertilizer, adjuvants, etc. Rather than asking growers to redo their entire programs, our products integrate seamlessly into existing crop programs, optimizing growers’ water chemistry to help the entire program work more efficiently.

The Role

This is a field-focused agronomy and sales position centered around building and maintaining relationships. You will take responsibility for an existing customer base while expanding Aqueus' footprint by developing new relationships with growers, dealers, and distributors throughout Michigan, the Midwest, and beyond.

You'll spend time on farms, in fields with the people making crop-management decisions. You'll need to understand their operations, speak their language and translate the science behind Growthful into practical agronomic and economic value. We offer a competitive base salary and a commission-based structure, with bonus opportunities based on performance. Our benefits package includes health insurance and generous PTO.

What You'll Do
  • Train alongside our current Sales Agronomist to learn the territory, existing accounts, and the benefits of our chemistry. Our technical agronomists will train you on the chemistry behind it, but you will explain it to growers in a way they can relate to and see value in. Assume responsibility for existing grower, dealer and distributor relationships as our current Sales Agronomist transitions into retirement.
  • Work directly with growers to understand their crop programs and identify opportunities to integrate Growthful alongside the products and practices they already use. Provide responsive, knowledgeable support to existing customers, regularly following up for their feedback, assessing any concerns and offering solutions.
  • Prospect for potential new grower, dealer and distributor opportunities throughout Michigan and the Midwest to expand Aqueus' regional footprint.
  • Support field trials, demonstrations, grower meetings, dealer events and other opportunities to demonstrate Growthful's value in real-world crop programs.
  • Work closely with Aqueus' agronomy, sales, marketing and leadership teams to turn field experience and customer feedback into continued market growth.
Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who understands agriculture because they've spent their life working with growers and want to help them boost yields and save their hard-earned money.

The ideal candidate has a strong farming or production-agriculture background combined with agronomic knowledge and sales ability. You should be comfortable walking a field with a grower, discussing fertility and crop-management decisions, developing dealer relationships and asking for the business when there's a strong agronomic fit. At least 10 years of sales experience in the agricultural industry is strongly preferred.

We're especially interested in candidates with:
  • Strong practical knowledge of row, specialty and cover crops and Michigan/Midwest agriculture.
  • Experience selling crop inputs, fertilizer, crop protection, biologicals, soil amendments, seed or related agricultural products.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts in practical terms.
  • A self-starter entrepreneurial approach to territory development.
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field and travel throughout Michigan and into the Midwest as needed.
Location & Travel

This position requires regular in-person interaction with customers and the Aqueus team. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance of anywhere in Michigan. Our main office is located in Madison Heights, Michigan. The Sales Agronomist must have the ability to travel extensively throughout Michigan and periodically into other Midwest markets as needed.

We're looking for someone with a natural talent for sales, who knows agriculture, values relationships and is excited about helping growers boost their yields and ROI throughout Michigan and the Midwest. If you think you're a good fit, we'd love to hear from you!
