Job Description Thunderbird Environmental, LLC is seeking an entry level Environmental Scientist to join our growing team of professionals in Clinton, Connecticut. The Environmental Scientist position requires a 4-year degree in environmental science, geology, or related field. The current career opportunity requires excellent written and verbal communications skills, a mechanical aptitude, and the ability to use basic computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The Environmental Scientist position includes a mix of office and field duties. Prior experience working at construction sites and familiarity with OSHA health and safety requirements is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
· Assist in performing environmental site assessment work, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling;
· Use and maintain technical scientific field instruments;
· Prepare detailed field notes documenting field activities and observations;
· Prepare e-mail updates, draft reports, data tables, draft figures, and other deliverables;
· Maintains effective client relations through unwavering professional conduct and trusted interpersonal skills.

Skills / Qualifications
· B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or related technical field;
· Ability to perform field work with exposure to a variety of climatic conditions and potential exposure to hazardous materials and wastes;
· Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare concise email updates and draft reports;
· Ability to travel 25% overnight outside of Connecticut;
· Must be able to pass a physical exam to obtain medical clearance for work on hazardous waste sites;
· Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
