Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in accordance with the established course development model, using effective instructional delivery methods.
  • Participate in course and program design; maintain curriculum currency; collaborate on curriculum development and revision.
  • Prepare and meet with classes as scheduled, establish rapport with students, and solicit student feedback to improve teaching and learning practices.
  • Develop and post clear syllabi in CANVAS, communicating course objectives, instructional processes, assessment policies, and attendance policies.
  • Evaluate and record student performance regularly, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
  • Maintain appropriate office hours to support students; collaborate with support services and advising to assist student success.
  • Monitor academic progress, use early alert tools to refer at‑risk students, and fulfill classroom requirements.
  • Participate in institutional outcomes assessment measurements, analyze results, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Serve on college and district committees, work groups, and task forces; attend and participate in faculty, college, district, and advisory meetings.
  • Assist college in recruitment and retention of students, act as an active department team member, demonstrate professionalism, and support the EICC mission and values.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.
Qualifications

Master's degree with at least 12 GSH in qualifying fields that provide a foundation for the specific subject matter taught. Colleges may accept courses from non‑prefix fields if they align with the subject matter.

Advanced Degrees for Anatomy/Physiology Courses
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.)
  • Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine (D.C.M.)
  • Physical Therapist (P.T.)
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.)
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (N.P.)
  • Physician Assistant (P.A.)
  • Master of Science (M.S.) in Kinesiology

Physical Demands

This role operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally; open filing cabinets; bend or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
