With approximately 50,000 patient admissions every year, Mercy One Clinton operates 163 licensed beds and offers a wide range of services including wound care, radiation oncology, dialysis, imaging, sleep disorders, therapy services, and skilled care. We are looking to hire a Pharmacy Technician to assist Clinical Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining the drug inventory and patient records.
Certified Pharmacy Technicians perform under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not make clinical judgments requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgment.
- Procure and distribute medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies
- Enhance the quality of delivery of care and effective operation of the department
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, and other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior
- 20 hours a week
- Rotating weekends
- Rotating holidays
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification required
- Registered with the State of Iowa Board of Pharmacy before commencing employment
- One to three years of previous pharmacy experience (or combination of college and experience) preferred
- Ability to type accurately, with basic knowledge of medical terms and abbreviations
- Manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination useful in preparing or assisting with preparation of orders
- Demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment
- High school diploma required
