A dietary aide is responsible for preparing and serving meals, ensuring dietary needs are met, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. Dietary Aides play a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that cater to their individual dietary needs while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Their responsibilities encompass meal preparation, dietary monitoring, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to promote the health and well-being of residents.

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages following specific procedures
• Serving meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
• Staying current on the individual procedures and protocols for their facilities, including state-specified rules and regulations
• Setting up and taking down dining areas and assisting with kitchen maintenance and general cleaning
• Taking inventory of kitchen supplies and food items

• Dietary aides must be detail-oriented to ensure that meals are prepared according to specific dietary guidelines.
• Strong verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with residents and other staff members.
• The role often requires standing for long periods and performing physical tasks such as lifting and carrying food trays.
