We are looking to hire a Pharmacy Technician! As a Pharmacy Technician at Mercy One, you will assist Clinical Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records in Pharmacy. These duties require skill and training but does not include making clinical judgments that require a pharmacist professional judgment. Certified Pharmacy Technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Ages of patients served range from neonatal to geriatric.

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required
• Required to be registered with the State of Iowa Board of Pharmacy before commencing employment
• One to three years of previous pharmacy experience (or combination college and experience) is preferred
• Must be able to type accurately, have basic knowledge of medical terms and abbreviations
• Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are useful in preparing or assisting with preparation of orders
• Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment

40 hrs a week Rotating weekends Rotating holidays

High school diploma required
