Job DescriptionServes as the college's chief development officer and works with the CCC Foundation and college personnel to seek external funds from public and private sources. Responsible for coordinating all facets of community, alumni, and media relations for the college. Serves on the CCC Leadership Team to participate in institutional planning and problem solving.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of a Master's Degree with a background in administration, leadership, or related experience.
- High degree of technical fiscal skills and knowledge of accounting and business practices.
- Experience preparing and managing multiple budgets.
- Documented evidence of developing and managing successful fundraising initiatives.
- Resource development, marketing, public relations, and supervisory experience.
- Experience with educational and business partnerships preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- CFRE certification as a fundraising executive is preferred.
This job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. It requires the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally, bend, or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, and attending meetings on- and off-campus.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and implement fundraising initiatives that provide funds for student scholarships and college advancement.
- Develop the case statement for annual support and major/planned gifts that reflect the college’s mission and vision. Prepare materials and communications needed to support fundraising efforts and goals.
- Organize an annual campaign among employees striving for 100% participation.
- Utilize staff at all levels for peer‑to‑peer solicitation.
- Personally solicit area foundations, businesses, and vendors as appropriate.
- Maintain 100% participation, support, and involvement of members of the Board of Directors.
- Plan and supervise solicitations of the college’s constituency to acquire new donors, upgrade current donors, and solicit additional gifts from current donors.
- Identify prospective donors with the capacity and interest to support the college’s strategic plan with major gifts and plan individual strategies and events to secure timely commitments.
- Implement appropriate recognition and communication of major gift commitments to donors. Regularly communicate investment experience to endowment donors.
- Develop and recommend policies and procedures regarding gift vehicles, acceptance, donor recognition, administration, and stewardship of planned gifts.
- Identify current and potential donors as planned giving prospects. Plan and implement individual strategies to obtain commitments in wills, trusts, and charitable remainder trusts.
- Work with donors’ advisors to negotiate gift agreements. Implement stewardship plans to assure donors’ commitments and secure additional gifts.
- Staff the Board of Directors and its committees. Prepare meeting agendas, notices, and minutes. Ensure Board proceeds with strategic plan.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with FASB and other applicable standards. Work with the Treasurer to prepare Board reports timely. File all state and federal tax and financial reports on time.
- Conduct timely acknowledgments of donors’ gifts and commitments that meet IRS requirements.
- Provide training and supervision to achieve program goals when applicable.
