Join the Mercy One Family! We are looking to hire a Registered Nurse, RN Float Pool.
As a Registered Nurse, RN Float Pool at Mercy One, you will serve as a clinician, team member, and professional and practices under these roles according to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance (2004). The Registered Professional Nurse is accountable for the delivery of evidence-based, safe, efficient and family centered care in order to achieve the Mission of Mercy One Clinton Medical Center and the Vision of Patient Care Services.
- Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined in the Iowa Nurse Practice Act (2006); retains accountability for one’s own nursing practice.
- Responsible for planning, assessing, intervening, co-coordinating and providing direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.
- Communicates with physicians, ancillary care-givers, patients and families regarding the patient’s plan of care.
- Fulfill the responsibility of holistic (body, mind and spirit) nursing care based on the mission, vision and values of Mercy One Clinton Medical Center.
- Performs assessments including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.
- 7:00 pm – 7:30 am; every third weekend; holiday rotation
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Iowa RN license or compact RN license recognized by the state of IA
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitor capabilities
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire
- High language, intermediate to high math, high critical thinking ability
- Basic computer skills required
- Associate’s degree or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
