Store Manager, Retail & Store Manager

If you enjoy working a unique job, with a retail team dedicated to Goodwill’s mission, Goodwill of the Heartland is looking for a Store Manager for our Clinton Store. This is a Full-Time position with a base salary and the potential for monthly commission and incentive based on store performance. The Store Manager position requires a high school diploma/GED and two years of leadership experience.

Five years of full-time employment in production, manufacturing, logistics, and/or retail is preferred. Store Managers drive as needed so a valid, active, driver's license and proof of insurance is also required.

Our Store Manager ensures that our team excels in customer service, internally and externally, by modelling behavior, monitoring in-store processing and inventory, and optimizing the processing of donated items for in-store use. In addition, the Store Manager creates schedules for team members to ensure adequate coverage and to meet production needs, as well as ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and cash controls on the cash register.

Store Managers partner closely with the Regional Manager, HR Learning and Development, and retail training staff to ensure all training is completed and identify and deliver training opportunities. Maintaining an attractive, safe, and welcoming store environment, including retail space, donation areas, parking lots, dressing rooms, and restrooms, is a key component of this role; each store will have a safety coordinator that will work with the Store Manager to help educate the team on safe work behavior and share new information.

This position will also handle store reporting, bank deposit, performance appraisals, training and developing their team, and other in-store documentation.

Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED or in pursuit of a diploma/GED required

Five years full-time employment, including 2 years of required direct supervisory experience, preferably in production, manufacturing, logistics, retail, or a combination.

Two years leadership experience required, 3-5 years of leadership experience in a retail or production environment is preferred.

Successful completion of criminal background check and motor vehicle record.

Proof of valid, active, driver’s license and car insurance.

The Store Manager position has a starting salary of $43,043 - $47,347 annually and this position is also eligible for an additional 1% commission and incentive pay. Goodwill drives a strong reliability culture and the schedule will include a rotation of days, evenings, and weekends. In order to provide the best leadership, this position will require work every other weekend, at least one evening shift, and one mid-shift per week.
