Salary Range: $17.00 To $20.00 Annually
SUMMARYPerforms all functions associated with material movement required to ship/receive products, raw materials and other supplies from delivery trucks or production into warehouse locations.
Responsible for the loading, storage, and inventory control of raw materials, purchased materials, finished goods, and a variety of manufacturing supplies or materials. Verifies quantities to ensure inventory accuracy. Supports production requirements by filling material requisitions in a timely manner. Performs activities related to monthly and quarterly physical inventories.
- Performs all duties required for shipping and receiving materials.
- Organizes warehouse as instructed.
- Ensures inventory transactions and material receipts are done in an accurate, timely manner.
- Places stock into inventory locations in a timely manner.
- Assists in the loading and unloading of trucks.
- Delivers raw materials and shop supplies to production areas as required.
- Complies with all existing safety and materials handling policies and procedures.
- Participates on quality improvement and cost reduction teams.
- Must pass forklift operator training.
- Creating and running basic reports for inventory processes
- Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
- High school diploma; general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
- Requires basic reading, writing and math skills.
- Fork truck operating certificate required.
- 2 years Hi-Lo experience in a Shipping/Receiving role.
- This position requires up to 3 months' work experience to become proficient in all phases of the job to work independently.
Supervisory Responsibility

- Accurately identifies routine incoming or outgoing materials, products, chemicals, and supplies to verify against the documents that accompany the materials and contents of all incoming shipments. Takes count, checks for damages, makes entries into systems for record keeping purposes.
- Verifies against the packing slip that correct products are being shipped to the right customers in containers with proper cushioning or protection.
- Requires knowledge of the overall warehousing plan to efficiently place or retrieve materials to maintain inventory integrity, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques.
- Determines sequences for loading materials and organizes incoming shipments for maximum space. Utilizes specialized hazardous handling, storing, and safety procedures; utilizing safety considerations and damage protection.
- Handles incoming materials and unloading of trucks while receiving general instructions from a supervisor.
- Responsible to notify supervisor whenever problems or discrepancies arise in the quantity for shipment; the amount received or paperwork issues.
- Assignments are usually completed without guidance on methods, procedures, or techniques, and work is reviewed for compliance with general guidelines and results achieved.

Physical Demands/Efforts- Frequently required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, kneel, bend, and work in cramped positions while moving materials and goods.
- The incumbent must be able to use their hands to finger, handle and touch materials, parts and equipment.
- The position requires the ability to both talk and hear.
- Regularly carries objects of varying weights, sizes, and shapes, normally, moderate physical exertion is expended to handle product / material that is less than 25 pounds and regularly handles objects weighing (up to 40 pounds) occasionally carrying for considerable distances.
