As a Project Manager, you will manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities from start to finish. Your responsibilities include proposals, bids, project design, quality control, job scheduling, problem resolution, job completion, coordination, communication, client satisfaction activities, and other related duties in alignment with company policies and regulations. You will assist or manage job estimating, project budgets, projections and contracts, job solicitation and project negotiations, and may also mentor and provide work direction to other project team members.

The role may also include civil construction projects such as trenching, excavating, directional drilling, underground fiber, specialized bus duct excavation, signs, and communications systems.

Responsibilities
  • Direct all phases and activities of each project to achieve high quality and productivity, including project plans, quotations, bidding, budgeting, monitoring projections, scheduling, testing procedures, and establishing goals and performance standards.
  • Prepare and manage timely and accurate project documents and status reports, estimates, projections, material release schedules, client information, project schedules, purchase orders, monthly invoices, payments, closeout documents, warranties, drawings, maintenance manuals, final billings, change orders, cost codes, and other documentation to support construction project work.
  • Document methods of procedure (MOPs) and ensure all field personnel have current materials, tools, plans, schedules, and directions. Communicate changes in budget and scope of work and ensure design staff have necessary data and submittals.
  • Secure subcontractors using standard agreements, obtain permits, procure materials proactively, negotiate with vendors and distributors on availability and pricing, and ensure all plans and documents are maintained in the appropriate systems.
  • Conduct job start‑up meetings and regularly attend project update meetings to stay current on scope, schedules, administrative needs, and market conditions. Provide day‑to‑day direction to project foreman or superintendent and design staff as needed.
  • Partner with the project foreman and all project team members to conduct site inspections and safety audits, ensuring accurate scope, placement, and conformance with contract documents and company quality and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in civil engineering, project management, construction management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of general sitework and installation standard practices, particularly excavation and concrete construction.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience with solid training and skills.
  • Proficiency using construction software tools (e.g., Procore, Accubid, Revit) and estimating techniques.
  • Skills to read and interpret electrical contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications, with excellent financial, analytical, and mathematical skills.
  • Collaboration, coaching, teamwork, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse teams; knowledge of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid Software, Bluebeam Revu or other civil estimating software is a plus.
Travel
  • Relocation to project job sites may be required (or willingness to relocate is a big plus).
